Avondale Estates Police say an unknown suspect smashed a window at a discount store on Covington Highway in the early morning hours of June 8.

The incident occurred in the 3400 block of Covington Highway at 5:45 am, police said.

“The suspect used a rock to smash the glass, sounding the alarm, and tried unsuccessfully to open the cigarette display, but may have taken some other items instead and fled on foot,” the alert from the police department says. “If you have any information regarding this incident, call Avondale Estates Police Department Investigator Tom Gillis at 404-391-4526 or DeKalb County 911.”
