The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is warning of construction projects on Interstate 285 and other major interstates this weekend. Lane closures and delays are expected. There are also some special events going on around town including the Old Fourth Ward Arts Festival Saturday and Sunday and a Def Leppard concert Sunday evening at Lakewood Amphitheater.

Here’s GDOT’s list of planned work:

· Two southbound lanes will close on I-285 from LaVista Road to Lawrenceville Highway from 7:30 p.m., Friday, until 7 a.m., Saturday for sign structure work;

· Striping on I-285 northbound will require up to three lane closures from the MARTA Indian Creek Station to Chamblee Tucker Road nightly from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday;

· Two northbound lanes will close on I-285 northbound from SR 6/ Camp Creek Parkway to SR 139/ Martin Luther King Jr. Drive from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday;

· Two lanes will close on I-285 northbound from SR 8/ Hollowell Parkway to South Atlanta Road continuously from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday;

· On I-20, one eastbound lane will close from SR 139/ Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to Joseph E Lowery Boulevard and one westbound lane will close from SR 139/ Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to McDaniel Street from 9 p.m., Friday, until 5 a.m., Monday;

· Two lanes will close on I-20 eastbound from Six Flags Parkway to SR 70/ Fulton Industrial Boulevard from 9 p.m., Friday, until 5 a.m., Monday;

· One lane will close on the I-85 southbound ramp to I-285 eastbound from 9 p.m., Friday, until 5 a.m., Monday;

· One lane will close on the I-85 northbound ramp to I-285 westbound from 9 p.m., Friday, until 5 a.m., Monday;

· One lane will also close on the I-85 northbound ramp to I-285 eastbound from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday

· One lane will close on the I-285 eastbound ramp to I-85 southbound from 9 p.m., Friday, until 5 a.m., Monday for work on Spaghetti Junction;

· Traffic will shift on the I-85 northbound off-ramp to Pleasantdale Road and Northcrest Road from 9 p.m., Friday, until 5 a.m., Monday the ramp will stay open at all times;

· On U.S. 78, two eastbound lanes will close from Mountain Industrial Boulevard to Memorial Drive and two westbound lanes will close from Memorial Drive to Brockett Road nightly from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday;

· Two northbound and two southbound lanes will close on Georgia (State Route) 400 at Northridge Road continuously from 10 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday for sign structure work;

· On I-75 southbound, the Express Lanes project will require one lane closure from SR 92 to the Canton Road Connector from 9 p.m., Friday until 10 a.m., Saturday to set beams;

· The Express Lanes project will also require lane closures on Big Shanty Road under I-575 and at Town Lake Parkway under I-575, both closures are from 9 p.m., Friday until 10 a.m., Saturday. Traffic detours will be in place;

· Lastly, the Express Lanes project will require two lane closures on I-285 eastbound and three lane closures on I-285 westbound at the I-75 interchange from 9 p.m., Friday until 10 a.m., Saturday;

· Work on the South Metro Express Lanes will require one lane closure on I-75 southbound from Hudson Bridge Road to Jonesboro Road from 9 p.m., Friday until 7 a.m., Monday;

· One lane will close on I-75 northbound from the I-675 interchange to SR 138 continuously from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday;

· Two lanes will close on SR 8/ Ponce de Leon Avenue from Glen Iris Drive to Ponce de Leon Place from 7 a.m., until early afternoon on Saturday, from sign structure work;

· One lane will close on SR 280/South Cobb Drive between SR 5/Austell Rod and I-285 continuously from 9 p.m., Saturday until 5 a.m., Monday;

· On SR 154/ Memorial Drive, one lane will close between Moreland Avenue and Wilkinson Drive and one lane will close on SR 154/ Memorial Drive between East Lake Drive and Candler Road both closures are from 9 a.m., until 3 p.m., Saturday; and finally

· One lane will close on SR 155/Candler Road from McAfee Road to Whites Mill Road from 9 a.m., until 4 p.m., Saturday for sidewalk work.
