DeKalb County Police responded to a fatal shooting overnight at an apartment complex near Avondale Estates.

Capt. Steven Fore said that on June 24 at 11:30 p.m. officers responded to a call of a person shot at 1005 Willow Ridge Way in unincorporated Avondale Estates.

“Officers arrived and found two males suffering from gunshot wounds,” Fore said. “One male, in his 20’s, was deceased at the scene and the second male, also in his 20’s, was transported to Grady hospital in critical condition. It has been reported to police that the two victims were inside the residence when two to three males entered and began shooting.  The investigation is ongoing and the motive is unclear at this time.”

Police are not releasing the names of the victims at this time.
