Decatur’s Marlay House and The Imperial both made it on a Zagat list of best bar burgers in Atlanta.

The two Decatur bars were out of eight listed as “Best Bets for No-Frills Bar Burgers in Atlanta.”

Zagat says of The Marlay House, “One nice thing about this Irish pub in Decatur is that while, yes, it’s an Irish pub, it’s not over the top and garish in a theme-park way. Another nice thing? The basic burger, crafted with Black Angus beef and dressed simply with, lettuce, tomato and onion.”

The Marlay House responded on its Facebook page, saying, “Thanks Zagat, so happy you have understood what we are about.”

Another Decatur restaurant, The Imperial in Oakhurst, also made the list for “its perfect cooking and rich beefy taste.”

The Marlay House’s mobile Marlay food truck, as it’s called, will be at The Big Pop Up! festival at East Decatur Station Thursday evening.
