The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is suspending construction-related lane closures near shopping malls Friday and Saturday because of the sales tax holiday.

GDOT said, “The restriction will offer some relief from construction-related lane closures as families prepare to send their children back to school. Weather permitting, some construction in the metro Atlanta area will resume when the restriction ends on Saturday night.”

Here’s GDOT’s list of planned work this weekend:

· One eastbound and one westbound lane will close on SR 316 from Herrington Road to SR 120 continuously from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday for resurfacing;
