The City of Decatur and DeKalb County have some road work planned for this week.

Decatur reports that crews will be milling East Trinity Place from North McDonough Street to Decatur Fire Station No. 1 on Monday, Aug. 31. Repaving will begin on Sept. 1. Work will begin at 7 a.m.

The city says the project is part of the final phase of the downtown streetscape improvements.

More from the city:

On-street parking will be prohibited when the work is being performed. Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout the day but will be limited where work is taking place and anyone traveling through the area should expect delays.

TEMPORARY NO-PARKING SIGNS WILL BE POSTED ALONG CHURCH STREET. ALL VEHICLES MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE STREET DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. WHEN WORK IS PERFORMED. Vehicles parked on the street during the posted times are subject to towing.

“Road closure and detour signs will be placed in the area during the road closure period advising motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions,” the press release from the county says. “For questions, contact Bora Berki, scheduling coordinator, Boutte Tree Inc. at 404-799-5472.”
