Qualifying for the upcoming Avondale Estates municipal elections ended on Sept. 4, and there are five people running for the City Commission.

Two of the city commission candidates – John Pomberg and Todd Pullen – ran for mayor in the March 2015 special election.

Meanwhile the winner of that election, Jonathan Elmore, will run unopposed. The municipal election is Nov. 3.

Commissioner John Quinn is running for reelection. But unlike other cities, Avondale Estates doesn’t have districts. The winners will be the two candidates who receive the most votes. There are two seats on the commission on the ballot this year: Quinn’s and Commissioner Lindsay Forlines. Forlines is not running again.
