Decatur Police answered a burglar alarm at the Verizon Wireless store at 335 West Ponce de Leon on Tuesday morning, Sept. 1

Police responded at 3:45 a.m., according to Lt. Jennifer Ross.

“Officers arrived and observed a front window shattered,” Ross said. “No suspects were located inside of the business. It appeared several phones and tablets had been removed from their displays. A check of the rear of the store showed the office door had been forced off of its hinges. Officers located two boxes believed to have belonged to the store strewn in the roadway in the 600-800 block of West Ponce de Leon Avenue. The criminal investigations division was notified and an investigator responded to the scene.”
