Reminder: The City of Avondale Estates is hosting a forum for City Commission candidates on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at City Hall, located at 21 North Avondale Plaza, Avondale Estates.

The forum will begin at 6:30 p.m. and last until 8:30 p.m. According to the agenda, the moderator will be Joe Weeks. There will be 75 minutes allotted for questions and answers from the audience. Candidates will also have the opportunity to make opening and closing statements.

The candidates running in the Nov. 3 election are:

Mayor

Jonathan Elmore (incumbent, unopposed)

Commissioner

John Quinn (incumbent)
Brian Fisher
Adela Yelton
Todd Pullen
John Pomberg

People who want to vote early can cast their ballot at 4380 Memorial Drive, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 12 through Oct. 30.

People who wish to vote will need to bring one of the following forms of identification, according to the Georgia Secretary of State’s office:

– Any valid state or federal government issued photo ID, including a free ID Card issued by your county registrar’s office or the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS)

– A Georgia Driver’s License, even if expired

– Valid employee photo ID from any branch, department, agency, or entity of the U.S. Government, Georgia, or any county, municipality, board, authority or other entity of this state

– Valid U.S. passport ID

– Valid U.S. military photo ID

– Valid tribal photo ID
