The original deadline for letters related to the Nov. 3 elections was Thursday, Oct. 29. The deadline created confusion for some candidates, so it was extended to midnight, Oct. 30. Letters pertaining to the Nov. 3 election will not be published after Oct. 31. All letters must be signed and are typically 400 to 800 words in length. We reserve the right to edit letters for length and content. To send your letter to the editor, email it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our local school board election is significant and will affect all of us whether or not we have children in the schools. The new board member will have to work with a new superintendent and maintain the school system’s excellence while managing growth. Because of these exceptional opportunities, Decatur needs a leader that has a heart to serve, is committed to building collaborative relationships, is fiscally resourceful, and can impartially represent their entire constituency. Decatur needs Tasha White.
Tasha is a thoughtful person and will give careful consideration to all issues. From her training as a social worker, she knows how to advocate for families and she understands how to find solutions in positive ways. She is committed to building an outstanding educational experience and to making the City Schools of Decatur a system that all others will want to emulate. Please join us in wholeheartedly supporting Tasha White for City Schools of Decatur School Board on Nov. 3rd.
