Dude replaces Phyllis Edwards, who served as the school system’s superintendent for the last 12 years.

Prior to coming to Decatur, Dude was the chief operating officer for the Iowa City Community School District.

Goebel said Dude’s contract is effective Nov. 2, 2015.

Dude recently participated in a lengthy Q&A with Decaturish. To read that interview, click here.
