Decatur’s own Sydney Rhame is no longer on The Voice after Tuesday’s battle rounds.

The Decatur High School senior lost to fellow Team Pharrell member Madi Davis.

One recap of the show explained, “Coach Pharrell Williams, who is working with Missy Elliot during the ‘Battle Round,’ required Sydney Rhame to face off against Madi Davis. The girls were quickly featured in a video montage singing ‘Riptide’ and Madi won.”

Rhame thanked Pharrell and her fans on social media and said she is just getting started.

Rhame won her spot on Pharrell’s team by singing an Ed Sheerhan song.

She previously told Decaturish that since the episode aired of her getting on the show things had gotten hectic. “Aside from my phone crashing from all the notifications I’m getting from Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, people have been so sweet and so supportive,” Rhame said. “Teachers have told me it was great. My friends have been really nice. People will come up to me and tell me how excited they are for me.”

Rhame posted a new song called “This Mountain” on Facebook. She said she wrote it when she got back from the show and just recorded it this week.
