According to the city, Boy Scout Troop 6 is giving away cookies and will take donations for the Decatur-area Emergency Assistance Ministry. Girl Scout Troop 2443 will sell homemade chili to support its service projects and activities. Donuts and cider will follow.
“As in the past, Santa Claus will make a special personal appearance for the occasion,” the announcement from the city says. “This is a rain-or-shine event, so additional tents will be set-up if needed.”
The Decatur Christmas tree lighting at Little Shop of Stories will take place Thursday, Dec. 3. It begins at 7 p.m. Santa usually makes an appearance there as well.
