Residents of the Williamsburg apartments on North Jamestown Road are being told they have 60 days to move elsewhere now that the property has a new owner.

The new owner, Pulte Homes, intends to demolish the property and build town homes and single family homes.

There are 416 units at the complex, located in greater Decatur near North Druid Hills Road. A reader, whose parents had just rented an apartment at the complex, sent along a letter mailed to tenants by the new property manager, First Communities:

Pulte bought the property from Tribridge Residential last month.

A spokesperson for Pulte told Decaturish the company intends to, “Provide high-quality, new construction housing to include single-family homes and townhomes. More specific information will be released in February 2016.”

The property will not need to be rezoned. Development will begin in the first quarter of next year, the spokesperson said.
