Avondale Estates Waffle House robbed

Avondale Estates Police said the city’s popular Waffle House was robbed on Thursday night.
According to bulletin from the city, “On 01-14-16, at approximately 11:10 PM, AEPD units were dispatched to the Waffle House on East College Avenue in reference to a Robbery.

“Upon arrival and initial investigation, it was determined that two black males had entered the business, displayed a firearm and demanded money from the cash register. After receiving the cash, the subjects fled on foot, westbound on East College Avenue.”
Police described the suspects as:
2 young black males, possibly in their late teens.
Both subjects were wearing “hoodies,” one black – the other gray.

The Waffle House chain got its start in 1955, right down the road in Avondale Estates. It’s now a Waffle House Museum, open a few days a week for tours.
