DeKalb County says it expects McLendon Drive will be open to traffic by this Wednesday, Feb. 17.

McLendon Drive remains closed in both directions as crews continue to repair a water main that broke on Jan. 28. The break occurred between between Tanner Drive and Brook Drive, near the Scottdale Food Mart. The 42-inch water main most likely broke due to age, according to the county. While residents were expecting water pressure issues as the county made repairs, so far there have been no reports of people experiencing pressure issues related to the break.

On Feb. 11, the county said via press release, “McClendon Drive remains closed between Brook Drive and Tanner Drive as the Department of Watershed Management continues restoration and repairs to a 42 inch water transmission main under the street. Both lanes on McClendon Drive remain accessible to local traffic only. It is expected that, weather permitting, the road will be re-opened by Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016.
