Decatur Police respond to calls of tires stolen and make DUI arrest on Easter Sunday

Two vehicles in Oakhurst had all of their tires stolen over Easter weekend.

According to Lt. Jennifer Ross, “Officers … responded to two locations in Oakhurst this morning (March 27) regarding stolen tires/rims Tires/rims [that ] were reported stolen from vehicles in the 500 block of McKoy Street and 100 block of Spring Street.”

In an apparently unrelated incident that happened nearby, a man was arrested on charges of DUI and intent to distribute marijuana after his Camaro got stuck on a ditch.

At around 4:49 a.m. on March 27, officers responded to a motorist assist call in the 300 block of West Davis Street.

According to Ross, the officer “arrived and located a Chevrolet Camaro lodged on the cement driveway of the residence located at the dead end, with the two front tires hanging over into a ditch.”

“The driver, 33-year-old Adam Young of Locust Grove, was arrested and charged with DUI, failure to maintain lane, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, theft by receiving stolen property (stolen firearm) and open container,” Ross said.
