Aaaayyy! “The Fonz” is coming to Decatur!

Or at least the actor who played Arthur Fonzarelli is coming to the city. Henry Winkler and his writing partner, Lin Oliver, will be at the Decatur Library on Wednesday, Mar. 16 at 7 p.m.

They are coming to share the latest book in their Hank Zipzer series for young readers at an event by Little Shop of Stories and Georgia Center for the Book.

Hank is described as “a bright boy with learning challenges.” Winkler struggled with learning challenges himself and was diagnosed with dyslexia, a reading disorder, as an adult. Winkler and Oliver created Hank, the “world’s best underachiever.” They will discuss their most recent book “Here’s Hank: You Can’t Drink Meatballs Through a Straw.”

There are some rules for the book signing. Fans of “Happy Days,” the show Winkler is probably best known for, can’t use the children’s book signing as an opportunity to get memorabilia signed.

Georgia Center for the Book said on its website, “Mr. Winkler will only sign copies of Here’s Hank and Hank Zipzer books. He will not sign any memorabilia. –Due to the anticipated crowd size, the number of books to be signed by Mr. Winkler and Ms. Oliver may be limited to a few per customer. Henry and Lin will sign both hardbacks and paperbacks.”

Little Shop of Stories said, “Please note: attendees must buy a copy of a Hank Zipzer book from Little Shop of Stories to gain admittance to the signing line. No memorabilia will be signed by The Fonz, Barry Zuckerkorn, or Henry Winkler. Exactomundo.”
