It’s a busy week for food news.

Revival is launching a Georgia Beer Dinner series on Tuesday, Apr. 12, starting with Avondale Estates’ Wild Heaven Craft Beers. A press release says, “The dinner will feature four savory dishes and one dessert prepared by Revival executive chef Andreas Müller paired with five different Wild Heaven beers.” The other 2016 Georgia Beer Dinners will feature:

  • June 14: Three Taverns Craft Beers
  • Aug. 16: Creature Comforts Brewing Co.
  • Oct. 18: Twain’s Brewery

Tickets can be purchased online.

Revival’s Chef Kevin Gillespie will be sitting down for a conversation with Decatur alum and comic writer Roy Blount Jr. Blount, a regular panelist on NPR’s “Wait, Wait … Don’t Tell Me!” has written a book called “Save Room for Pie: Food Songs and Chewy Ruminations.” Gillespie and Blount will discuss food and the book at Decatur High on March 21 at 7 p.m. And Revival will be providing pies at the event. Tickets can be purchased through A Cappella Books.

In other Revival/Gunshow news, the restaurants both have new team members, according to Chef Gillespie’s Red Beard Restaurants. The company said, “Gunshow’s newest general manager, Josh Rasor, worked his way up from a server in 2013 to his role now as GM. Geoff Morrill, former general manager of Gunshow, will now manage Revival in Decatur.”

There’s a new restaurant moving into Bhojanic’s old location. Tomorrow’s News Today reports Best Seafood and Noodle World is moving into the Clairmont Rd. spot. TNT reports the owners of Mint 2 Thai-Sushi, which is in the same center, are behind the new restaurant. Bhojanic’s Buckhead location is still open, and Bhojanic Market recently opened on Emory University’s campus.

Rising Son, which is taking over The Bishop’s old space in Avondale Estates, is looking to hire. A message posted on its Facebook page said, “We are getting closer to opening and we still need more front-of-house employees. If you or anyone you know is looking for a serving job please feel free to message me.”

Twain’s Brewpub & Billiards was featured on Fox5 Atlanta in honor of its 20th anniversary. A reporter shadowed head brewer Chase Medlin.

And speaking of TV appearances, Steinbeck’s in Oakhurst appeared on CBS46 to demonstrate how to make noodles.
