The City of Avondale Estates is closing down part of the path at Willis Park a little over a week after the park reopened to the public.

“On Monday, April 25, part of the path at Willis Park will be closed for minor repairs,” the city announced. “The repairs will take one week to complete depending on the weather and the full path is scheduled to open by Friday, April 29.”

Earlier this month, the city announced the park had reopened after an extensive renovation.

Willis Park, named after town founder George Francis Willis, is located off of Dartmouth Avenue and across from the Museum School on Forrest Boulevard.

In August, the Avondale Estates City Commission awarded three contracts for the project worth over $600,000.
