Investigators with the Decatur Fire Department are still investigating the cause of a July 14 fire at a 615 South McDonough Street.

There were no injuries, but the home is most likely a total loss, according to a fundraising account set up on behalf of the family.

Deputy Fire Chief Stephanie Harpring said, “The fire appears to have started in the attic area above the kitchen and dining room areas. At this time, the fire department is unable to rule out electrical as a cause.”

According to the Go Fund Me page set up for the family of Craig and Jessie Hadley, the family was on vacation at the time the fire started. As of July 19, the fund has raised $34,213. To visit the Go Fund Me page, click here.
