GDOT: Portion of Clairmont Road will close early Saturday morning, July 16 for 4 Miler

The Georgia Department of Transportation says that two lanes of Clairmont Road will close on Saturday, July 16, for the Decatur DeKalb 4 Miler race.

The closure will take place from 6:45 a.m. to 8 a.m. between North Decatur Road and Scott Boulevard. There will also be two lanes closed on Scott Boulevard for the race, GDOT says.

Another item on GDOT’s to-do list: There will be a southbound lane closure on LaVista Road between I-285 and Briarcliff Road from 8 p.m. Sunday, July 17, until 5 a.m. Monday, July 18.

South Metro Express Lanes

– New Closure: On I-75, one northbound lane will close between SR 155/McDonough Road and SR 20/SR 81/McDonough Road from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday.

– UPDATED CLOSURE: On SR 20/SR 81/ Hampton Road, one westbound lane will close at Willow Lane nightly from 9 p.m., until 5 a.m., starting Friday night until Mondaymorning.

– New Closure: On SR 155/N. McDonough Road, one lane will close at Industrial Boulevard from 9 p.m., Sunday until 5 a.m., Monday.

I-20

– CANCELLED: Two westbound lanes will close between the I-75/I-85 (Downtown Connector) interchange and SR 280/Hamilton E. Holmes Drive continuously from 9 p.m.,Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.

– CANCELLED:Three westbound lanes will close between McDaniel Street and Joseph E Lowery Boulevard from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.

– CANCELLED: A partial closure will take place on the I-20 westbound ramps to Windsor Street and Langhorn Street from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday.

Construction & Lane Closures Weekend Schedule

ATLANTA-Georgia Department of Transportation projects to improve highway infrastructure throughout Metropolitan Atlanta continue this weekend, weather permitting. Construction on the I-20 and the Express Lanes will require lane closures, which, in turn, are likely to result in delays. Motorists are advised to exercise caution by reducing speed while driving through work zones.

The Georgia DOT encourages motorists to call 511, visit 511ga.org , or check the 511 Georgia and Atlanta Traffic app before departing for real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.

Planned work this weekend is as follows:

Northwest Corridor Express Lanes

– On I-75, one southbound lane will close between SR 120 Loop/South Marietta Parkway and SR 280/Delk Road continuously from 8 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.

– On I-75, two northbound lanes will close between Windy Hill Road and SR 280/Delk Road from 9 p.m., until 5 a.m., Friday night and Sunday night.

– On I-575, one northbound lane will close between Barrett Parkway and Bells Ferry Road from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday. A traffic pace will also take place between Barrett Parkway and Bells Ferry Road from 10 p.m., Friday until 3 a.m.,Saturday. The traffic pace will require motorists to drive 5 mph -10 mph to allow contractors to work across the interstate lanes.

– On I-575, one southbound lane will close between Barrett Parkway and the I-75 interchange from 8 p.m., until 5 a.m., Friday night and Sunday night.

– On I-575, one northbound lane will close between Towne Lake Parkway and Ridgewalk Parkway from 9 p.m., until 5 a.m., Friday night and Sunday night.

– On I-285, one westbound collector-distributer lanes will close between Powers Ferry Road and Cumberland Boulevard from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday.

South Metro Express Lanes

– On I-75, up to two northbound lanes will close between SR 20/SR 81 Hampton Road and Jonesboro Road continuously from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.

– On I-75, one southbound lane will close between Hudson Bridge Road and Jodeco Road/Flippen Road nightly from 9 p.m., until 7 a.m., starting Friday night until Mondaymorning.

– On I-75, one southbound lane will close between SR 20/SR 81/McDonough Road and SR 155/McDonough Road from 9 p.m., Friday until 7 a.m., Saturday. A traffic pace will take place during the closure. The traffic pace will require motorists to drive 5 mph -10 mph to allow contractors to work across the interstate lanes.

– On I-75, one northbound lane will close between the I-675 interchange and SR 138/Lake Spivey Parkway continuously from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday

– UPDATED CLOSURE: On SR 20/SR 81/ Hampton Road, one westbound lane will close at Willow Lane nightly from 9 p.m., until 5 a.m., starting Friday night until Mondaymorning.

I-20

– One westbound lane will close between the I-285 interchange and SR 70/Fulton Industrial Boulevard from 5 a.m., Saturday until 5 a.m., Sunday.

– CANCELLED: Two westbound lanes will close between the I-75/I-85 (Downtown Connector) interchange and SR 280/Hamilton E. Holmes Drive continuously from 9 p.m.,Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.

– CANCELLED:Three westbound lanes will close between McDaniel Street and Joseph E Lowery Boulevard from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.

– One eastbound lane will close between Riverside Drive an d just after Thornton Road from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.

– One eastbound lane will close between the I-285 interchange and the I-75/I-85 (Downtown Connector) from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.

– The SR 6/Thornton Road southbound entrance to I-20 eastbound will close from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday. Traffic traveling on SR 6/Thornton Road to I-20 eastbound will make a U-Turn and enter the SR 6/Thornton Road north entrance to I-20 eastbound.

– The I-20 eastbound entrance and exit ramp to SR 139/Martin Luther King Jr. Drive will close from 8 p.m., Saturday until 5 a.m., Sunday. Traffic exiting off I-20 eastbound to SR 139/Martin Luther King Jr. Drive will exit at Joseph E. Lowry  Boulevard; turn right on Lowry Boulevard; turn right on SR 139/Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard; then return to SR 139/Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Traffic entering I-20 eastbound from SR 139/Martin Luther King Jr. Drive will need to detour to SR 139/Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard; turn left; continue to Langhorn Street; turn left and enter I-20 eastbound on the Sells Avenue entrance ramp.

I-85

– A rolling closure will take place on the northbound and southbound lanes between SR 3/Metropolitan Parkway (SB exit)/SR 166/Langford Parkway (NB exit) and the I-285 interchange nightly from 9 p.m., until 5 a.m., starting Friday night until Monday morning.

– Two northbound lanes will close between SR 139/Riverdale Road and Virginia Avenue nightly from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.

I-285

– The SR 13/Buford Highway on-ramp to I-285 southbound will close from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday for concrete rehabilitation. A detour will be in place during the closure. Traffic traveling southbound on SR 13/Buford Highway to I-285 southbound will make a right on Motor Industrial Way. Continue on Motor Industrial Way, then, just before Peachtree Industrial Boulevard take the loop ramp to I-285 southbound.

Traffic traveling northbound on SR 13/Buford Highway to I-285 southbound will make a left on Motor Industrial Way. Continue on Motor Industrial Way, then, just before Peachtree Industrial Boulevard take the loop ramp to I-285 southbound.

– Two eastbound lanes will close between SR 42/Moreland Avenue to SR 54/Jonesboro Road from 9 p.m., Saturday until 12 p.m., Sunday.

Georgia (State Route) 400

– One northbound lane will close between SR 141/Peachtree Parkway and MacFarland Parkway continuously from 9 p.m., Friday until 12 p.m., Monday.

Other State Routes

– On SR 155/Clairmont Road, two lanes will close between North Decatur Road and SR 8/Scott Boulevard and two lanes will close on SR 8/Scott Boulevard from 6:45 a.m., until 8 a.m., Saturday for the Decatur Dekalb 4 Miler.

– On SR 10/Freedom Parkway, one lane will close at Boulevard nightly from 9 p.m., until 5 a.m., starting Friday night until Monday morning.

– On SR 236/ Lavista Road, one southbound lane will close between I-285 and Briarcliff Road from 8 p.m., Sunday until 5 a.m., Monday.

– On SR 141/Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, one northbound and one southbound lane will close between North Shallowford Road and Club Drive from 8 p.m., Friday until 8 a.m., Saturday and from 8 p.m., Saturday until 8 a.m., Sunday.
