Avondale Estates’ Pine Street Market has announced plans to open a “farmer-owned butcher shop” in the near future.

Pine Street Market is not closing its Avondale Estates store. Pine Street Market is partnering with Riverview Farms on the idea.

The companies are looking at locations in Grant Park around Memorial Drive.

“We know the new space will include cooking classes and events, prepared meals with our new Big Green Egg and Lodge Cast Iron, farm fresh produce, every cut and item you see at [Pine Street Market] plus a whole lot more,” Pine Street Market said in a recent newsletter.

The company did not provide a timeline for when the butcher shop would open.
