A tribute concert in downtown Atlanta will benefit a Decatur-based nonprofit.

Reading is Essential for All People (REAP) was established to help children become better readers by giving teachers the tools to help them in the classroom. REAP’s fundraiser is Oct. 1 and begins at 7 p.m. The Tiger Kings will perform covers of songs by Prince, David Bowie and The Eagles at Studio No. 7, located at 393 Marietta Street N.W. Tickets, which cost $60 at the door and include drinks and food.

That’s not the only fundraiser on REAP’s behalf this weekend. The Madison Avenue Soapbox Derby in Oakhurst, scheduled for Oct. 1, is also donating proceeds to the nonprofit.
