The Suburban Plaza Cajun restaurant Louisiana Bistreaux is opening Sept. 2 at 4 p.m.

The restaurant had set an opening date of Aug. 25, but that  was pushed back due to a “hiccup” with the restaurant’s equipment.

Owner Fred Delawalla confirmed the restaurant was on track to have its official opening on Sept. 2.

The approximately 3,000-square-foot restaurant will open behind the LA Fitness and next to the barber shop Sports Clips.

Delawalla told Decaturish in November 2015 the restaurant will seat 120 to 130 people, including on the heated/air conditioned patio.

The Decatur restaurant will be the second location. The original Louisiana Bistreaux is located in East Point.

Delawalla said the menu will feature mainly seafood and will include the restaurant’s signature jambalaya.

Delawalla highlighted the “crawtator crusted grouper” as one of the Decatur menu items. It’s described as “grouper crusted with Zapp’s crawtator chips in a cajun crawfish cream sauce.”
