Decatur High School and downtown Decatur were left in the dark on Wednesday, Nov. 2, after a contractor working on a streetscape project hit a power line.

According to the city, “A contractor working the N. McDonough streetscape overhaul has hit an unmarked powerline on North McDonough Street, just after noon today, knocking out power to a significant portion of downtown Decatur, including Decatur High School. No injuries have been reported. Georgia Power is on scene and repairs are underway.”
