Now that voters have approved a new city of Stonecrest in south DeKalb County, supporters of a much larger city of Greenhaven are making plans for the 2017 Legislative session.

Greenhaven, which would have an estimated population of 300,000, will encompass most of the unincorporated areas that remain in south DeKalb County. Efforts to move that city forward have stalled in the Legislature, but the approval of Stonecrest shows an appetite for incorporation in south DeKalb.

This map shows the proposed boundaries of Greenhaven – colored in purple – as proposed in 2015.

Concerned Citizens for Cityhood of South DeKalb, the group behind the Greenhaven cityhood movement, is seekign volunteers to help with their efforts.
