(PHOTOS) – Oakhurst Elementary celebrates ‘Day of the Dead’

Oakhurst Elementary partnered with Matador Cantina to celebrate Día de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead, a holiday celebrating ancestors and relatives who have passed away.

Michielle Arnold Maggard, who was involved with the event, told Decaturish, “The Spanish teachers, art teacher, and music teachers have been working on a whole curriculum teaching the kids about this cultural experience, significance of the day, and songs.”

The celebrations took place on Wednesday, Nov. 2.

There was a parade featuring the students’ artwork.
