DeKalb County District Attorney Robert James is offering some offenders in DeKalb County a chance at redemption.

On Saturday, Dec. 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. the District Attorney’s Office will hold a Records Expungement Day, according to a press release.

The event offers, “People with felony arrests a chance to have the arrests cleared from their record, if they qualify.”

The press release says felony convictions do not qualify for expungement.

“The event is aimed at giving those with dismissed cases a better chance at obtaining gainful – or even improved – employment, factors which are proven to reduce criminal behavior,” the press release says. “Organizations offering career and educational information will be on-hand as well.”

It will be held at the DeKalb County Courthouse, 556 N. McDonough Street, Decatur, GA.

Interested parties should bring:

– Driver’s License or state ID

– Certified copy of your Arrest Disposition (available from the DeKalb Superior Court Clerk)

– Copy of Criminal History (available from any area police department)

– A positive attitude
