Dear Decaturish,

My 10-year-old daughter wrote this just after watching Hillary Clinton’s concession speech. I didn’t help her write this at all. This is all inspired by Secretary Clinton’s words and what Delia has heard from the news and us chatting.

Dear Secretary Hillary Clinton,

I am truly sorry you lost the election. I think that you would have made a great president. It was very brave of you to stand up and run trying to break the high glass ceiling. Even though that didn’t happen, you have inspired me to fight for what is right, even if people disagree. You have changed my life, inspired me, and taught me that nobody is perfect. I hope that one I can break the glass ceiling of sexism and racism. You sure have inspired me to.

Love,

Delia
