Decatur’s Rotary Club releases 2017 grant applications

Decatur’s Rotary Club recently released applications for their community grants program. With funds of $18,000, each grant will total up to $3,000.
The application deadline is Mar. 1. Here are the requirements:

Grant applicants should seek funding for a community project that focuses on either literacy or at-risk youth, and funds must be used for a specific program, not for general operations or overhead.

Applications must pertain to programs that are based in DeKalb County and that serve DeKalb County residents.

Grant recipients must demonstrate a large impact on the program, regardless of the level of funding.

Grant recipients should strive to have a significant impact in the DeKalb County community and for DeKalb County residents.

Grant funds should be used between June 1, 2017 and May 31, 2018.

The community project must be administered by a nonprofit agency currently maintaining a tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
