Renfroe Middle School students held their annual “No Place for Hate Day” on the Decatur Square on Friday, Feb. 10.

A mom of one of the students, Meg Magno told Decaturish, “I’m the proud parent of a 6th grade student at Renfroe Middle School. Today, I got to watch my son, Gabe, and the entire 6th grade class demonstrate a peace walk. The students made signs, walked to the city square, they chanted ‘No Place For Hate,’ and read famous quotes regarding love and acceptance. They smiled and hugged. I will always be proud to say that it really is Greater In Decatur.”

According to City Schools of Decatur, City Commissioner Tony Powers spoke to the students on the square.
