Refuge Coffee Company publishes list of refugee-owned businesses

Refuge Coffee Company has published a list of refugee-owned businesses for people interested in showing their support of a community that is being heavily scrutinized by President Trump.

The Clarkston coffee shop offers job-training to resettled refugees.

Jessica Darnell, who handles community engagement for Refuge, put the list together. She put first compiled the list around Christmas for people looking for unique Christmas gifts. She recently sent out the list again via email.

Caleb Goodrum, director of operations for Refuge said there’s been renewed interest in the list.

“Overall we’ve had a lot of people who have been interested in meaningfully try to plug in with the community,” he said.
