On Saturday, Apr. 1, Avondale’s Rail Arts District Studio Cruise is back for its 10th year

The event is free for all ages, featuring artistic performances and art sales from “Avondale and Decatur art studios, galleries, and art-making venues.” It begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m. There are free trolleys available to take people to each studio on the cruise.

The Rail Arts District website says, “Have you ever wanted to throw a pot, blow some glass, learn to paint, make paper, or have a nagging need to sew? Our studios are the place you want to be. From soap to beer and back to bacon, our local shops offer an enticing menu from local craftspeople.”

As part of the cruise, local studios will be hosting an open house for the majority of Saturday.

In addition to open houses, artists will be giving special presentations, such as art demonstrations, throughout the afternoon.
