“The victim reported he and a friend were skateboarding when the two suspects approached them and asked questions about skateboarding,” Ross said. “Suspect #1 reached out as though he was going to shake the victim’s hand but instead punched the victim in the face and told suspect #2 to grab the victim’s backpack. The two suspects then started to leave the area. The victim pulled out his phone and stated ‘Siri call dad’ and suspect #1 heard him and turned back and demanded the phone while placing his hand in his waistband as though he had a weapon. However, no weapon was seen. The victim relinquished his phone to suspect #1. The case was turned over to the criminal investigations division who immediately began to follow up on potential leads.”
Police identified suspect No. 1 as 17-yer-old Brandon Bober of Atlanta. He has been arrested, Ross said.
“Suspect #2 was described as a black male, late teens-early 20’s, approximately 5’10, thin build, medium complexion, close-cut hairstyle and wearing red basketball style shorts and a white t-shirt,” Ross said. “This case is still under investigation.”
