Local restaurant, no. 246, is hosting a fundraiser for 29-year-old sous chef Jason Fisher, as he battles a rare cancer for the second time in two years.

The benefit is a “potluck style, backyard event” at 246 on Sunday, Mar. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. The restaurant is located at 129 E. Ponce de Leon Ave. in Decatur.

“The diagnosis has been devastating for the Ford Fry Restaurants family as he is one of its most respected leaders with a very promising future in the restaurant world,” Ford Fry spokesperson Lauren Lestin said. “So, we’ve teamed up with the regional best for a fundraising event – benefiting Fisher and the Giving Kitchen.”

Ford Fry is collaborating with several acclaimed chefs, such as Chris Hall, Anne Quatrano and the Fox Bros. The event will feature beverages from Terrapin and Heaven Hill Distilleries. In addition to food and drinks, there will be ping pong and live music in the courtyard.

An announcement for the event says, “Entry to the no. 246 fundraiser is complimentary and open to the public, and discretionary donations, suggested $40 per person, can be made at https://www.gofundme.com/jasonfisher.”

More information about the fundraiser can be found at www.no246.com.
