Police have released more information regarding a Kroger employee accused of sexually assaulting a woman at the Decatur Kroger.

The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon, March 7. According to the report, the victim was an adult female and the report indicates she was mentally disabled. In the report, the suspect is described as a 23-year-old man. His home address is in greater Decatur.

He faces charges of rape and exploitation/intimidation of a disabled adult, both of which are felonies. Police aren’t releasing any additional details about the case, citing the ongoing investigation. Kroger confirmed the suspect is an associate at the store and has been suspended.

A Kroger spokesperson said via email, “Safety is our first and foremost priority at Kroger. We have suspended the associate and are working with local law enforcement in their investigation.”
