Multiple witnesses told Decaturish about a Thursday evening police chase involving numerous police vehicles on Scott Boulevard.

A spokesperson for DeKalb County Police indicated the officers were in pursuit of a robbery suspect.

Witnesses said they saw a number of police cars, perhaps as many as 20, speeding down Scott Boulevard chasing after a white vehicle. One witness said, “While waiting at the light, car came speeding down Scott Boulevard and hit several cars waiting at the light before speeding off. That car was followed by at least 20 police cars and overhead a police helicopter.”

Witnesses said there were a number of police cars at Patel Plaza and a helicopter circling overhead.

The police spokesperson didn’t have details about the chase or number of vehicles involved. She said officers were looking for a white Honda Accord that was believed to be involved in the robbery of a Family Dollar store. She said a male suspect has been arrested, but did not have any other information about the incident.
