At its regular meeting on May 1, the Decatur City Commission will consider a change order that will slightly increase the cost of renovations to McKoy Park and Oakhurst Park

The $27,500 change order for additional work on concession and pavilion buildings will bring the total cost of the contract to $1.13 million, according to Deputy City Manager Hugh Saxon.

“The project generally is complete,” Saxon wrote in a memo to City Manager Peggy Merriss. “We were able to make these needed improvements while accommodating Agnes Scott’s softball team and highly successful varsity softball and baseball seasons for the Decatur High Bulldogs and hosting state high school tournament playoff games for both teams.”

The City Commission meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be held at City Hall, located at 509 North McDonough Street in Decatur. All meetings are open to the public.
