After winning its first round of play off games against Walnut Grove high over the weekend, the Decatur High baseball team is gearing up for the second-round.

The bulldogs will face Union Grove High School of McDonough on Wednesday, May 3. According to parent Ray Glier, “Game 1 is 4 p.m. and Game 2 is 6:30 p.m. If Game 3 is necessary it is scheduled for 5:55 p.m. on Friday.

Glier said prior to the first round of the playoffs, the last time DHS hosted a playoff game was 1951.

Decatur won its first-round playoff series against Walnut Grove this past weekend. The Bulldogs lost, 3-2, in 11 innings, won Game 2, 7-5, in 13 innings, and then won decisive Game 3, 7-6.
