Three people are in custody following an incident on Tuesday that resulted in an officer being dragged by a vehicle.

The incident happened at Capistrana Place in greater Decatur, near Glenwood Road.

According to DeKalb County Police, the 35-year-old officer has worked for the department for eight years. He was conducting a traffic stop when there was “some sort of physical altercation.” The officer was dragged and then thrown from a vehicle, according to police.

WSB-TV reported the officer was transported to Grady Hospital.
