Starting next month, left turns onto or from East Lake Terrace at Memorial Drive will be prohibited.

Atlanta Councilperson Natalyn Archibong said via Facebook that the change came after speaking with neighborhood representatives and Drew Charter School.

“The crash history of this intersection and the presence of schoolchildren requires this change,” she said in a Facebook post. “Right turns will still be permitted. Drivers who are trying to go from south to north across Memorial Drive must use other routes where there is better visibility and less danger of head-on collisions. The Atlanta Police will enforce this restriction once the signage has been installed.”
