Charis Books & More to hold open house for new location
By Ellie Ritter, contributor
After announcing their relocation from Little Five Points to Decatur back in December, Charis Books & More will be hosting an open house preview of their new location on June 17.
The “South’s oldest and largest feminist bookstore,” Charis specializes in diverse and unique children’s books, feminist and cultural studies books, and LGBTQ fiction as well as general literary fiction, according to their Facebook page.
They will be opening the new space for the public to see before beginning renovations. With no admission required, anyone can drop in between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to check out walk through the space, see the plans for renovations and enjoy light refreshments. There will also be information about developing the presence of Charis Books and Charis Circle at Agnes Scott College.
The event is family-friendly. While Charis plans to make the space “beautiful, functional and accessible for all,” the building is not yet wheelchair or stroller accessible.
