The market will go into the former Cook’s Warehouse location. As Decatur Metro notes, the market sells liquor at its Buckhead location.

City commissioners recently voted to change the city’s alcohol laws to allow grocery stores to sell liquor. The Georgia Alcohol Dealers Association, which represents liquor store owners, has signaled it intends to fight the granting of the license. The city, however, says it has the authority to issue such a license, and the Buckhead location would appear to support the city’s position.

The market bills itself as a “neighborhood destination” that sells locally-sourced, organic foods, wines and spirits. It also provides a “generous environment” to “sample and celebrate the fruits of everyone’s labors.”

Decaturish left a message with the company seeking comment and will update this story when the company responds.
