“The complainant stated his front porch motion light was tripped and he looked outside and observed two males in the street,” Lt. Jennifer Ross said. “He opened the door and called out ‘Hey’ and saw three more males running in the street. One of the males reached toward his waist and then fired four or five gunshots in the complainant’s direction. The complainant ran back inside and called police. The suspects ran toward South Candler Street.”

Police found a single bullet hole above the front porch and shell casings in the roadway.

“The complainant described the suspects as young black males and stated one of the suspects was wearing a white ball cap and white pants,” Ross said. “The complainant’s neighbor met with officers and reported his vehicle had been entered. The vehicle had been unsecured and nothing was taken. Officers canvassed the area and located a vehicle with an open door. The owner was contacted and reported his and his wife’s vehicles had been entered. Both had been unsecured and nothing was taken.”
