A local woman is in critical condition after being struck by a DeKalb County police vehicle that hit a house.

The incident occurred on the morning of Jul 25. According to a spokesperson, a police vehicle swerved to miss a vehicle turning in front of him and struck a pedestrian. The vehicle then struck a house at the intersection of Brown Road and Chamblee Tucker Road. The officer is in stable condition.

Fox 5 Atlanta identified the woman as Janet Pickney, 58. She is described as an “avid runner.”
