Report: DeKalb officer who hit and killed pedestrian charged with vehicular homicide

The DeKalb Police Officer who struck and killed Janet Pickney last month has been charged with vehicular homicide, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.

The officer swerved to miss a vehicle turning in front of him. After hitting Pickney the vehicle hit a house at the intersection of Brown Road and Chamblee Tucker Road. The officer survived, but Pickney suffered critical injuries.

According to the AJC, officer Iain MacGowan had been on leave since the incident. He’s facing several other charges as well. For the full story, click here.
