As of Wednesday, Aug. 23, two candidates have qualified to run for the Avondale Estates City Commission.

The candidates who have qualified are:

– Lisa Shortell

– Candace Jones

Avondale’s qualifying concludes on Friday, Aug. 25. Two commission seats are on the ballot and they will go to top-two vote getters in the winner-take-all election.

The election is Nov. 7 and early voting begins on Oct. 16.
