Two more candidates qualify to run for Avondale Estates City Commission

As of Thursday, Aug. 24, four candidates have qualified to run for the Avondale Estates City Commission.
The candidates who have qualified are:
– Lisa Shortell
– Candace Jones
– Paul Brown
– Lionel Laratte
Avondale’s qualifying concludes on Friday, Aug. 25. Two commission seats are on the ballot and they will go to top-two vote getters in the winner-take-all election.
The election is Nov. 7 and early voting begins on Oct. 16.
