Update.

Emory Police have lifted a shelter in place alert following a “police emergency” that occurred on Wednesday afternoon.

Emory Police issued the alert via Twitter saying, “EPD are looking for a wanted individual in Lullwater. The subject is NOT armed. Avoid Lullwater until an ‘all clear’ from @Emory University.”

DeKalb County Police confirmed it as well, but said it is only assisting Emory Police and providing K9 support for a search.

According to WSB-TV, police are looking for a person that county police intended to arrest at the VA Hospital, but the person fled from police.

Following the incident ,the University released this statement:

“The Emory University Police Department received a call at 4:13 p.m. today from the Atlanta VA Medical Center Police that an individual they had attempted to arrest on a probation violation had fled onto Emory’s Clairmont Campus near the Lullwater Preserve. The Emory Police and DeKalb Police Departments responded, along with a canine unit, however the individual was not located. An All-Clear was issued by Emory University at 5:40 p.m., and the Emory, DeKalb and VA Medical Center police departments continue to monitor the area.  University has returned to normal operations.”
